Celebrate Femininity
With Newborn Dresses

Baby dress and shoes I love newborn dresses!

Let's face it, it's difficult to tell if someone else's newborn baby is a boy or a girl until you see its clothing. The facial signs of femininity or masculinity don't present themselves for a several months.

That's why I love beautiful dresses. They proclaim and celebrate "It's a GIRL!"

Often the newest styles and fashion forward baby clothes are found in small boutiques across the country. Who has the time to drive from shop to shop looking for that perfect outfit? My Baby Clothes Boutique has a terrific selection of unique and beautiful newborn dresses - and it's just a click away (no traffic).

Unique Baby Clothes

If you need a baby dress for an upcoming special occasion, keep these tips in mind when shopping:

  • Clothing sizes for babies are general. For example, a item of clothing that is listed as size 3 months may or may not fit your 3 month old baby. It’s the “one size fits all” mentality that the manufacturers need to take, when truly one size does NOT fit all.

Babies grow at different rates due to many reasons, including genetics. If you are purchasing clothing well ahead of a future event, take into account not only the baby’s age at the time, but also health and genetics.

  • Don’t forget about the weather for the time of year for which you are buying. Those dresses are seldom made for warmth. If the weather will be cool, you could plan for a pretty sweater or even a coordinating blanket.

  • Newborn babies grow fast! I have been guilty of sticking beautiful baby clothing that was currently "way too big" in the back of the closet. Then the next time I look at them, I find out they've been outgrown.

  • Think twice (then think again) about purchasing newborn clothing that is dry clean only. It’s obvious that those who make dry clean only newborn dresses never spent much time with a newborn baby.

I still have one of the beautiful baby dresses that my grandmother gave me. My daughters each wore it once when they were little, and now I have it displayed in their bedroom. I intend to save at least one of each of their dresses so that they can someday put them on my granddaughters!

When your newborn baby has outgrown those special newborn dresses, be sure they are freshly washed before packing them away (even if there are no visible stains). Spit-up, formula, and other baby "fluids" left unwashed will discolor the garment over time.

If you care for them properly, they can one day be passed on to your grandchildren. (I know, it's too weird to think about being a grandparent now. Your daughter isn't even walking yet!)
